How I Built SEOWriting.ai’s Blog Content Strategy and Drove Organic Growth

SEOWriting.ai had a few blog posts that weren’t performing. I built their content strategy from the ground up, handling everything from keyword research to publishing 12 posts monthly.

Background

I worked with SEOWriting.ai’s founder and COO to create and execute a complete blog strategy. This collaboration involved keyword research, planning monthly content calendars, writing and publishing posts, adding internal links, and also helping with landing pages content, structure, messaging, and positioning.

About SEOWriting.ai

SEOWriting.ai is an AI writing tool that helps content creators generate SEO-optimized articles, blog posts, and affiliate content. The platform offers features like bulk content generation, auto-publishing to WordPress, AI image creation, and content readability improvements.

They serve bloggers, content marketers, SEO professionals, and business owners who need to produce content faster without sacrificing quality.

The Challenge

When I started working with SEOWriting.ai, they faced several issues:

  • No strategic content plan. They had a few generic blog posts that weren’t aligned to rank or drive signups. There was no clear direction for what content to create or who it should target.
  • Competing in a crowded space. The AI writing tools market is saturated with established competitors. We needed content that could compete while also converting prospects.
  • No dedicated content team member. They needed someone who could handle the entire content process independently so their team could focus on product and growth.
  • Starting from scratch. Without a proper blogging strategy or content calendar in place, we were essentially building their blog from zero.

My Approach

End-to-End Content Strategy

I handled everything:

  • Keyword research to identify topics that would rank and convert.
  • Monthly content planning with detailed calendars organizing topics by SILO clusters, target audience, goals, and competition level.
  • Content creation across TOFU, MOFU, and BOFU stages.
  • Publishing and optimization including uploading to WordPress, adding images, writing meta descriptions, and setting up internal links.
  • Landing page improvements by providing copy suggestions and working with their designer and development team.

I collaborated closely with the founder and COO, and created the workflow in such a way that they could easily approve the strategy without requiring constant management.

Strategic Keyword Research

I focused on keywords that would drive qualified conversions, not just traffic. The research targeted:

  • AI tool comparisons like “Jasper vs Writesonic,” and “Copy.ai vs Writesonic,” to capture prospects comparing options.
  • Alternative content targeting competitors like “Jasper alternatives,” “Rytr alternatives,” and “Perplexity AI alternatives” to reach people actively looking for different tools.
  • Educational SEO content like “how to write blog posts faster,” “what is SEO copywriting,” and “SEO copywriting tips for beginners” to attract prospects learning about content creation.
  • Use case content like “content writing for food blogs,” “writing content for travel blogs,” and “blog post ideas for small businesses” to show how SEOWriting.ai solves specific problems.
  • Technical SEO topics like “how to create a topical map for SEO,” “where to place SEO keywords,” and “how many internal links per page” to attract SEO professionals.

Content Planning by SILO Clusters

I organized content into clear SILO clusters:

  • AI Tools – Comparison posts and alternatives targeting prospects evaluating different AI writing tools.
  • SEO Writing – Educational content about SEO copywriting, content formatting, and best practices.
  • Copywriting – Guides on different types of copywriting and how to improve writing skills.
  • Content Marketing – Blog post ideas, content strategies, and marketing advice for different niches.
  • SEO Content Tips – Tactical advice on keywords, internal linking, blog structure, and SEO implementation.
  • SEO Tools – Comparisons of SEO tools and software that complement AI writing.

This structure helped build topical authority in each category while making internal linking natural and strategic.

Targeting Different Buyer Personas

Each piece of content targeted a specific audience:

  • Bloggers looking to create content faster.
  • SEO professionals needing scalable content solutions.
  • Content marketers managing multiple client accounts.
  • Business owners creating their own marketing content.
  • Copywriters looking to increase output without sacrificing quality.

Understanding these personas helped me write content that spoke directly to their specific needs and pain points.

Monthly Content Delivery

I published 12 posts per month consistently. Each month’s content calendar included:

  • 12 new posts across different SILO clusters
  • Mix of pillar content, conversion-focused posts, and educational articles
  • Updates to existing posts for freshness and ranking boosts
  • Strategic internal linking between new and existing content

This consistency helped SEOWriting.ai build content momentum and establish authority in their space.

Complete Content Management

For each post, I:

  • Researched competitors to understand what was ranking and why.
  • Analyzed user reviews on G2, Capterra, and other platforms for comparison posts.
  • Created the content following SEO best practices and brand voice.
  • Prepared custom screenshots to make posts more helpful and visual.
  • Uploaded to WordPress with proper formatting and structure.
  • Added images with captions to improve readability and engagement.
  • Wrote meta titles and descriptions optimized for search and clicks.
  • Added internal links manually to relevant posts, ensuring natural linking that helped SEO.
  • Submitted for review via Slack, where the team could approve and publish directly.

This process meant the team didn’t have to spend time on content production or optimization. Everything was ready to publish.

Landing Page Improvements

Beyond blog content, I helped improve their landing pages:

  • Pricing page – Provided copy suggestions to make pricing clearer and more compelling.
  • Features page – Suggested content structure and messaging improvements.

In this process, I collaborated with the designer and developer by providing detailed copy instructions and change recommendations.

This collaboration helped align their website messaging with the blog content strategy.

The Results

Strategic Content Foundation

We built a complete content strategy from scratch:

  • 60+ published posts across different SILO clusters in 5 months
  • Consistent monthly publishing of 12 posts maintained over multiple months
  • Content updates to keep existing posts fresh and competitive
  • Organized topic clusters that build topical authority

Rankings and Organic Growth

At the time of writing, the blog not only rankes #1 for it’s target keyword on Google, but also ranks 1 in the AI overviews.

Many posts ranked well on Google, bringing consistent organic traffic from prospects searching for:

  • AI writing tool comparisons
  • SEO writing education
  • Content marketing strategies
  • Alternative tools to competitors

The content targeted keywords with commercial intent, meaning visitors were actively looking for solutions, not just information.

Qualified Signups

The content strategy focused on conversion, not just traffic:

  • BOFU content like alternative and comparison posts helped prospects choose SEOWriting.ai over competitors.
  • MOFU content educated prospects on SEO writing and content creation while naturally positioning the product.
  • TOFU content attracted early-stage prospects and built brand awareness.

This funnel approach meant content supported the entire buyer journey, from awareness to decision.

Smooth Collaboration

  • Monthly strategy reviews to approve content calendars
  • Slack communication for questions and approvals
  • Independent execution of research, writing, and publishing
  • Minimal revision rounds because content aligned with brand voice and goals

Final Thoughts

SEOWriting.ai’s blog went from having a few generic posts to a strategic content engine producing 12 optimized posts monthly. The key was understanding their market, targeting the right keywords, and executing consistently without needing daily management.

If you need someone who can build your content strategy from the ground up and handle everything from research to publishing, this is exactly the type of work I do.
